The Monday working from home in Quakers Hill

 Hi,

Mike and I had a good day working from home in Sydney. Everything worked fine - no issues with the internet.

We popped over the road at lunchtime in NZ time and had some... lunch? Brunch? Hahah. I had the turkish eggs and they were delicious. Mike had bruschetta and loved it.

Iced latte across the road

After work and tea, Karen, Scott and I headed to Homebush to the netball courts to see Abby play in her netball game. Abby is a bit sick so we didn't think she would play that much. But in the second quarter she got put in at GA.

And then about 3 mins into the quarter she tripped on someone's foot and overstretched her ankle tendons. So she spent the rest of the game on the sidelines. Fortunately she seems ok. Probably just some rest and a little stretching.

Her team won - and now sit at the top of the ladder.

Vast netball courts

Final score - they won!

Because of Abby's injury, I drove home with her in her nice wee Mazda. We went via Parramatta Road and Old Windsor Road routes. But to be honest, I had no clue really, until we got onto Sunnyholt road. Hahah.

Back to watch some tV before bed. Mike was already well asleep trying to shake off this cold he has.

Good sleep. Up for Mike to drive to the train station with Karen and then go into work. I am WFH again here.

The dogs get groomed today so Scott has that on his list.

Enjoy your day.

Love,

Angela

The weekend in Sydney

 Hi,

We had a long weekend with Friday being ANZAC day. First time in a long time I did not attend the dawn service. But we were flying to Sydney and it would have made for a super long day. So instead I tidied the house for Jason's arrival (and Janine's non-arrival) and made sure the cats were happy. It was also good to hang with Toby before we both departed Wellington.

At the airport

We went through to the gate very easily at about 3pm. Super early for our 4pm flight. A relaxed flight to Sydney.

In the departure gate area

Easily through customs and onto the train. We chanegd at Central to platform 27 and the new Metro line. Then all the way to the end at Tallawong where Karen and Scott met us. By now it was dark outside so no views were had.

Off to bed fairly early. Up for Park Run and we decided to try Rooty Hill. It was about 20 mins drive from Karen and Scott's place. We got there quite early (7.30am) so did a walk of a bit of the course.

Saturday morning park run

Ummm - what does that sign say, Mike?

Post park run

We all did it!

Then we were off. Not bad considering It was 2 weeks since my last run. 34 mins. Mike ran with me.

The park has a very nice coffee cart

Evidence

We headed back home and Mike and Scott went out to run and increase their step counts. I watched netball with Karen.

Abby got home and we met Will. He was down at Ballarat playing AFL. Then we had tea and off Rouse Hill for some emergency shopping for the 21st birthday party on Sunday.  But when we got home it was not long to bed after that.

Up for brunch with Noush and Mel - in the pouring rain. Yuck. But the cafe was just over the road so we stayed dry. Good to hear more about Andrew off doing the Camino now. Wow!

Sunday brunch

No - they are actually bandanas

We headed off at lunch time to Troy and Justine's house for Mikayla's 21st birthday party. Big family event. It is always good to catch up with everyone. And it has been ages since I was at their house. A lot of changes there.

It was cowboy themed so Karen had managed to get hats from her friends and Big W had a great selection of flannel shirts for $10. Hahah. And some great red tea towels. I mean - bandanas.

Mike and Scott contemplate cowboy life

Pinata fun

There was a pinata and the highlight was Scott taking a swipe at the concrete pole on the verandah and breaking the beating stick into 3 pieces. No where near the pinata.

Back home for more netball. And off to bed. Up early for work. Busy today.

Have a great day!

Angela

The Wednesday with things

 Hi,

I enjoyed a visit to Gemini cafe for lunch yesterday. Erin took me there a month or so back. Love the iced latte with the frozen coffee bear. Had an omelette. Can confirm it was good.

Meltdown

Came home after work. Emma was visiting with Toby. But I got dinner ready. Mike had recovered enough from his migraine to study.

Toby and I watched some TV. He headed out to meet Emma for karaoke at Ivy.  Then bed for us.

Mike has a big exam this morning. Wish him luck! Go Mike!

Toby has regrets about choosing Limp Bisket and Nickelback for his karaoke songs. Hahahah.

Off to see Quentin soon. Enjoy your day. We're off to Sydney tomorrow and Jason is coming (yay!) to look after the cats. Thank you.

The Tuesday with Toby hanging out with Ryan and a lot of pizza

 Hi,

Tuesday was a work from home day for me. Mike went into town to work as he wanted to study in the quiet office after work was done.

Toby left at 11.30am to go hang with Ryan for the day. They did the zoo and the botanic gardens. They got home around 4pm to chill. Then we ordered pizzas and Sarah and Hamish came over to help us eat through the mountain of food.

Toby and I then watched another episode of Higher Potential until Mike got home. Then he ate some leftovers. I had a shower. And off to bed.

Had a good sleep but Mike woke with a migraine at 6am. Waaaaah. He is sleeping it off now. I bussed into town for a PT session with Quentin.

Squats. 60kg. 4 x 4. Then 120kg leg press. 10 reps x 3 sets. Legs are like jelly.

Enjoy your day.

The weekend with Easter

 Hi,

We have had a busy time over Easter. We stayed in Wellington but got a lot done while the weather was a bit rainy for some of it.

At noho marae

Wed and Thurs last week I was off at noho marae in Stokes Valley. Such a lovely marae. And I had another step change in my understanding of te ao Māori. Ka pai!

Stunning art

So lovely

Moxley chills on Toby

Back home and Good Friday was a chill day. I did do a gym session with Quentin and Toby joined me. We did dead lifts together. And after Quentin finished, Toby and I did a boxing session. Such fun with Toby.

She does not want to move

Then a boxing session

We also went to visit Sarah, Hamish and Ryan for hot cross buns in the afternoon. Nom, nom.

Moody morning

We had trapline to do in April and Saturday was the best day weather-wise for us. Callan was keen to help - yippee.  Toby tagged along so I took him up Sunny Grove trapline. Then KAT. It took us the best part of 5.5 hours. We got 3 rats and a mouse. Toby really loved being out in the bush. It was hard work off track - we had to scout around for the markers to find the traps on the upper part of KAT.

Dead mouse!

Sunny on the way up

And finished the off track parts

Rain coming in as we walk back

Mike and Callan were just a tad behind us in the stream. We were up at KAT5 when Toby heard them down in the stream. We shouted to each other. By the time we finished KAT and got back to the track junction, I got a message that showed they were 20 minutes ahead of us. Got down to near the car and Mike walked up to find us. We walked the last 10 mins out together.

Sourdough

That night we were watching TV and I got up to go grab something and both adductors (and my left tibialis) all cramped at once. It was so sore I could not talk for a bit - and was crying. Mike and Toby had no idea what was happening. They were running around wondering if they needed an ambulance. But I finally stuttered out it was cramp. I ended up with electrolyte and water and a hottie from them. Awww.

Not fun.

Sunday was egg rolling morning. And Wrestlemania for Toby at his friend's house.

Sunday and Monday saw lots of rain for us. And Mike had to study for a big exam coming up. So I decided to finally get the entrance painted. Monday I got the second coat on and we think that looks ok. Happy with the result. So that area is now all done!

Finished the entranceway

All done

PT session online this morning for me (Tuesday) with Quentin. Bench.  40kg. 4 x 4.  Not bad. Then a lot of arms and shoulders.

Working from home today. Toby is working with Ryan from midday today. Then pizza at our place with Ryan and his family for dinner.

It has been nephew's birthdays these last few days. Thinking of them. xx

Have a great day!

Love,

Angela

The Tuesday with a birthday dinner for Sally

 Hi,

I rode into work and enjoyed that for my first ride in for over a week. End of daylight savings means it is a little lighter in the morning for now.

Gym. Then caught up with Zaheer at The Lab. It was good to see him. He is doing well. Enjoying work. Still going to the gym. Lovely to see him.

Hey Zaheer!

When I got back to my desk, I found another iced latte courtesy of Mike. So I was quite caffeinated up for the day.

Mike got me an iced latte

After a big day at work we had a Charley Noble dinner with Sally and Andrew to celebrate Sally's birthday. Yes - the one that was almost a month ago. The one we missed. We are still whakamā about it.

Salads

Lovely dinner - as always. And we enjoyed hearing all their news. What they have been up to. What the rest of the year looks like.

Mike and I headed home by Uber at 9.30 and I packed for my noho marae today and tomorrow. Then made up the batter for date loaf to take.

Townsville Riverway Park Run.  At about 4.2km mark

Tim smashing it

Our parkrun pics were up too. So I checked them out. Hard to believe it was a week ago today we hired UBCO bikes on Maggie Island. I am missing the company and the fun.

Enjoy your day. And enjoy Easter. I am looking forward to rolling eggs with Toby. He stayed at Emma's place last night. I hope the boys buy groceries after work today.

Have a great long weekend, everyone.
Love,
Angela
