Pokemon Advanced

Ash, Misty and Brock were sitting down on a tree, when Chimcha let out a big yelp and ran away! Pikachu was chasing after Chimcha, but Chimcha was just too fast. Then all the other Pokemon came out, and started chasing after Pikachu. Even Togepi chased Pikachu!

Then Chimcha tripped and fell into a big hole. It took five minutes for him to get out. Five more minutes later all the other Pokemon arrived - at a place called Advanced. There was Dealga, and Shamen, and even a Pichu with a guitar. Then the Guaratena attacked Polkia. Polkia used Psybeam - but Guaratena dodged it. Pichu (with the guitar) used an attack called Sonic Boom. Then Dealga came into the battle, stopped time, and attacked Guaratena. Then PsyDuck - Misty's Pokemon - joined the fight. Psyduck is a small, unevolved Pokemon - so it just ended up with a big headache. It tried to use Psychic Attack on Dealga - but Dealga stopped time and did his attack. PsyDuck fainted!

Then all the other Pokemon ran away. Misty, Brock and Ash started looking for the Pokemon - and they ended up falling down the big hole! After they climbed out they saw all of their Pokemon so they started chasing them. Guaratena attacked them! Chimcha used Flame Wheel on Guaratena, and made him faint. So Ash used his MasterBall to capture Guaratena. (Believe it or not - it actually worked!).

Ash used his Pikachu and all the rest of the Pokemon attacked. Onyx used Rock Throw; Geodude used Rock Throw too; PineCone used Self Destruct; and PsyDuck just got a headache again. Stami and Staru used Water Gun and Maryl, who was following them, used Water Gun too.

Eventually, the battle swung Ash's way and all the other Legendary Pokemon fainted. Ash caught them all with more MasterBalls! It was a good day for Ash.

Ben 10 Alien Swarm - first review

Toby and I just watched Cartoon Network's new live-action move, Ben 10: Alien Swarm. This is what Toby had to say about it.

Alien Swarm was okay, not great but not bad either. I liked Race against Time more. It was longer and better. The were using their powers more, and I liked it when they met the other plumbers too. Alien Swarm was too hard to see, because it was dark all the time.

The best bit was when Ben had the new alien - nanotech or something. I liked it at the start because of how it slowly changed ben into the new alien.

The actors all looked like the cartoon characters, except for Kevin! His hair made him look like a girl!

The bad bits were that it was too short. And everyone was too happy! There were no special effects. Ben only changed into aliens four times, and Gwen hardly used her magic at all. She punched this guy at the end and she was like, Owwwww! Kevin only changed forms about twice.

I liked Ben's new car better than Kevin's old one, because it was more glittery and because it was a Mazda.

Grandpa Max was a bit too evil, especially [spoiler alert!] when he got absorbed by the hive.

I think they should make another move, another sequel. They should battle baby Vilgax - and the more they battle baby Vilgax, the more he grows!

Gogo's crazy bones 2

Gogo's crazy bones

Toby's latest 'big thing' is Gogo's Crazy Bones - little plastic figures that you collect, trade and play games with. He loves them. But he's very careful with them, so he's torn between taking them to school (and losing them) and leaving them at home (and not playing with them with his friends).

So he's hit on the perfect solution. Every morning he draws a quick sketch picture of a Gogo Crazy Bones and takes that to school.

Today he gave me this one to take to work. "Do you have 'News' at work? You can show this picture at 'News'."

I guess this blog is the closest thing I have to 'News' at work! So here is Toby's picture of  Lessi, one of his Gogo Crazy Bones.

Toby was great in his karate. His nana had him all ready and he was reading and snacking on carrots when I go home to take him there - to calm him down, nana said. Good call after all the excitement of the special afternoon followed mayhem of the tennis! On the way there he said he felt puke sick and he said maybe it was because he was nervous. But after being can't-concentrate, can't-stand-still boy only 2-3 weeks ago he was absolutely focused and still all the way through his karate grading. He did everything perfectly and got 9.5/10 to pass.

I'm very proud.

As a special passing-his-grading present I gave him a Club Penguin Card-jitsu pack. The Club Penguin merchandising tentacles have just reached our shores, you see. Toby was pretty happy with that. We played card-jitsu until dinner.

Toby loves UB Funkeys

Toby and I had a good morning - Toby was up early in spite of his adventures last night and asked again if it was time to go to Sydney, just in case his mum had got it wrong. I told him no and that he'd know when it was time because we'd be getting him out of bed in the middle of the night.

I left him to get dressed and when I came back, he'd filled in his lunch order already. Very neat handwriting and everything. Only minor trouble was that he'd ordered $8 worth of muffins, jellies and choc milk, but no sandwiches. After a bit of negotiation we got it down to $6 and some healthy(ish) food. We crossed out the extra junk food and Toby put sad faces on each one (not that he was grumpy about it - I think!!)

Then we printed out some more UB Funkeys pictures, and raced off to school. Only to find that the various sets of keys I'd grabbed did not include a garage key or a house key. After some quick breaking and entering - which is always a good opportunity, I've found a route into the house now that's easy and bypasses any alarm sensors, must talk to Malcolm again - I ended up with some Corolla keys with house and garage keys. No sign of my keys or the MX5 with garage keys. Sigh. Such a nice day and I've got a huge lump of steel over my head when I'm out and about.

So, delivered Toby happily to school - and now I'm ensconced in Robert and Margo's house with laptop and citrix. The painter is here already and doing his thing. I had a monentary problem when I discovered their WLAN was secured and I didn’t know its password – but all good because they have a neighbour with a wide-open WLAN. They are very generous! I won't abuse the privilege though. And I think that Robert and Margo should have a few quiet words to their neighbours...
