The Wednesday with Suga

 Hi,

Okay - there are no cats pics. But I did get a can of coconut iced latte from AJ at work. So I finally tried it and took a pic. I really wanted to like this. And the coffee taste was really nice. But the syrupy consistency put me off the actual drink itself.

After work, Mike and I walked to Courtney Place. Toby sent us a pic of overcast conditions in Chc and 25C temps. So we sent back a similar pic. Warm evening with clouds. We have a river of rain from the Tasman spilling itself all over the motu.

It was D Day evening with Sarah. Suga from BTS was doing solo concerts and they had a movie release of it. So we enjoyed a dinner at a Korean restaurant next to The Embassy and then went in to find our seats.

Lots of people filled the middle seats - and some had special lights to wave about. Mike and I enjoyed the movie - knowing very little about Suga and his songs. Sarah had tried to educate us - and I did recognise a few songs.

I think both of us enjoyed ourselves. Sarah took us home - and we walked home from her place. In the still warm night.

Warm night in bed then up to ride in for gym. Gorgeous sunrise. Then squats for me with Quentin. 40kg. 5 reps x 5 sets. The Bulgarian split squats for fun.

Mike has bought me a bench press and is going to pick it up tonight. From Paraparaumu. I hope it works for us.

I bumped into Andrew as I rushed from the gym to The Lab. Chatted to him for a minute or two. Then met Yvette from the Auckland office for brekkie. Good to catch up with her.

We have trap line commitments this weekend. And the river of rain to watch for. Let's see what pans out.

The Wednesday with working from home

Hi,

I think it was good to WFH, to be honest. Mike had a meeting after work and was home late. I was already tucked into bed.

But I did make biscuits, make a pie for tea, and chatted to Toby (and Tessa) for a while. Mum seemed to have a good day for her birthday. She was out and about.

I did sleep much better last night. Up early to ride in. PT session with Quentin. 67kg deads. 4 x 4. Or 4 x 5. Something like that.

The Wednesday with a quiz evening at work and a late gym session

 Hi,

Yesterday we had a work quiz event and I had pulled together an awesome team because in the end we came in second - by only one point.  Oossshh.  It was great fun.  Good food supplied too (every Business Unit gets to host a social event with a wee budget) - we had pizza and sushi.  Thank you to my team mates for a fun evening.

I had to rush off at 1815 for my PT session at 1830 with Quentin.  That was good too.  Dead lifts.  Low weight but trying for high reps.  And trying for form.  Which was getting raggedy by the end of each set.

Back to collect Mike and home on a handy #14 bus.  Fed the cats and fell into bed.  Up for a slower paced Thursday morning for a change.  Our PT sessions were Wednesday instead to let Quentin chill with his mother who is over for a long weekend.

Made scrambled eggs for our brekkie before we piled onto a later bus.  In at work.  Mike has some leadership meeting on after work.  I'll head home and get ready for a weekend of window painting.

The Wednesday with work followed by a gym session up the coast

 Hi,

Busy at work ahead of the week away next week.  I did meet Sally (from my last work) for lunch.  We visited Higher Taste as it is a shared fave place for lunch.  :-)  She is good - keeping on top of things.  We also got through our backlog of quizzes.  Woot!

Got home after work and had a quick tea before leaving Mike to meet Penny (our house and cat sitter next week).  Penny schmoozed with Moxley.  

I left to collect Theresa from her house in Paraparaumu - it took 50 minutes to drive there.  Wow.  Anyway, collected her just after 7pm and we went to City Fitness Coastlands.  it is just around the corner from her house, really.

We did bench and other arm work.  Theresa is a machine.  She was benching my working weight without any previous bench work.  And doing higher reps.  Wow.

Left her at 8.30pm at her house and was home just before 9.30pm.  Fell into bed.  Up for more bench this morning.  Hahahah.  Planning fail!

The Monday back at work

 Hi,

It was so cold at work yesterday that I never took an iced latte pic.  Because I had a hot chocolate instead.  That is how cold it was.

So - Monday came and went in a sea of work.  With no pics to show for it.

But things did happen.  I got a haircut at midday with Sarah (haven't had a haircut since Jan 2020) and even got a wee undercut at the nape of my neck.  You can't tell.  I used to have it way back in Muswell Hill days with my bob back then.

Work was busy.  And afterwards I went to the dental hygienist.  Got my teeth back into shape with much chipping off of tartar.  Or something.  But - all good.  And now I am smiling everywhere I go.  You need to show off your teeth after you have sacrificed so much for them.

I love the dentist.

I blame my mother. She loves dentists too.

Off home and Mike had cooked tea with Toby.  Chicken schnitzels for them and leftovers for me.  Mmmm.

Fell into bed and I had a great sleep.  But I still feel sleepy.  Not sure why.  Up for PT session - paused bench.  I did one rep of 40kg.  Then back to paused bench at 35kg.

Busy day today at work.  Last day of Toby and Tessa here.  I will miss them.  But it has been busy since they came up.  I hope they enjoyed it.

The Tuesday that was like a Monday

 Hi,

Ended up walking with Callan to PB Tech after work and back - and then convinced him and Stacy to join me and Mike at Bin44 for dinner.  Awesome way to end the day.

Ubered home and fell into bed.  Hahahah.  Lightweights.

Up to a stunning day - gorgeous sunrise.  Bussed in and met Arthur at Ugly Bagels for an iced latte.

The day stretches ahead.  Busy.  Hoping to run with Callan after work.  Mike's physio has told him to ease off running for a week while he does exercises to help his calf.  Do that, Mike!

The Tuesday with a lunch run

 Hi,

It's not often a day at work leaves me brain dead - but Tuesday certainly did that to me.  Went for a lunch run in gorgeous conditions with Callan - managed 4km.  We have another attempt today (Wed) - let's see how that goes.

By the time 4pm came around, and I got through the multitude of meetings that comprised my day, I was a little dazed and confused.  At 4.10pm I realised I was just staring at my PC.  Very weird.  Managed to get a bit done and then headed home with Mike closer to 5pm.

But we did get home and sort out tea and then went into the pit for a spare pair of boots and found weta in the door frame.  Guess it is awfully like a weta hotel.
