The Wednesday with work and the Tuesday with my actual birthday

 Hi,

Well, the weather had almost blown itself out on Tuesday - but still had a few wee showers through the morning. But by the late afternoon it was kinda nice again.  Mike had a migraine during the night. 4am. Poor Mike.

We went out to meet Quentin and Courtney at Harvey Norman in Lower Hutt and a nice salesperson called Eve sorted them out. I also got a new Dyson stick to replace our broken one. Yay!

Headed to Seashore Cabaret and got a bit wet walking to the cafe from the car parked up a block or two. But had a lovely brunch with Sally and Andrew coming too.

Home to do some Singstar with Toby in the bedroom while my parents snoozed and Mike worked in the office. I don't think we disturbed anyone too much.

Birthday dinner at Highwater

Drove into town to have birthday dinner at Highwater. Quentin and Courtney paid for my dinner with a voucher. Super nice of them. The food was great. Dad and Toby loved the slow cooked lamb shoulder. Mum loved the agria chips. The food was all very good. $1100 for the 8 of us! Wow!

Wednesday I was in town at work. Busy day. But did get some birthday wishes for the day before, so that was super cool.

Shane resigned. So that was super uncool. Such an amazing person to have as your colleague. I now count him as a good friend. But I will be really sad when he leaves in a month. Waaaaaahhhh. Good on him.

Got my present from Karen and Scott - a hoodie top for Pulse. I will go see some games this season and represent.

And Zoi won silver overnight in the slopestyle. Woot! That gives her 5 winter olympic medals. So awesome.

Have a great day. Mum, Toby and I are off to Auckland tomorrow. Visiting a friend of Mum's.

The Tuesday with work stuff

 Hi,

After an excellent planning day and an equally awesome bike ride to and fro (18knm each way - decent enough), we all met up in town for tea and karaoke at Newkor. My bus ride in was easy-as. First time on a bus in ages.

I was first into Newkor - and then Mike was able to make it when his work function didn't pan out. That was good to see him.

Then most of the team arrived and we got stuck into some dinner. Newkor have pared down their menu - and my vegan fried cauliflower had... fish cakes mixed in. Fortunately I avoided those. But - weird.  Martyn left as we finished tea to catch his plane. But we made sure to dedicate one song to him.

We only got an hour at karaoke as they shut at 9pm. They let us go a little longer due to a slow start with set up and stuff. But it was great fun.

Then Mike and I collected our backpack from Caitlin (she lives next door) and then Ubered home. Had a great sleep.

Mike went off to the gym and the doctor for a check up. And I am WFH and packing for our flight to Dunedin tonight.

The Wednesday with team night

 Hi,

Fun in the office yesterday. I caught up with Jill at work for an ad-hoc lunch. Got her a V - she was good with that. She wanted a JDE specialist. But she got a V. I think I made a good swap. :-p

Team night at Newkor

After work we headed out for our team night. Bin44 to start and then dinner at Newkor at 5.30pm. Delicious food. Then up to karaoke at 7pm. We had 2 hours of singing. Turns out my workmates love a bit of singing.

Mike came in to collect me - and stayed for about the last 45 mins of singing. As you can see! Hahahah. And when it wrapped up - we took Myra home to Tawa on our way home.

I could not sleep for ages. But slept well enough once I did get to sleep. Up for online session with Quentin and WFH today.

The Tuesday with karaoke

 Hi,

Huge day.  It started well with Juliet getting me an iced latte from her bagel trip with Roanne.  Winning the caffeine race from the get-go.

After a full on day at work, Celia drove me and Angie to kZone for a karaoke night with our friends from our last work.

Mike was coming but at the last minute went home to chill with Toby.  

We got to KZone at 5.45pm but it was closed and not opening until 6pm.  So we trotted over to Joe's Garage to see if we could eat or have a drink ahead of getting a karaoke slot.

But as we were perusing the menu Akshatha said we had a 6pm slot.  So we booked for afterwards and headed over.

Had such an awesome time singing with everyone.  Celia and Angie, obviously. Khemry.  Akshatha and Preeti on her first night out on the town without her wee one.  Pritesh held the fort admirably, I am sure.

Karaoke!

A few songs I had no clue about.  But I did a rendition of Merry Christmas, Baby by Bruuuuce.  Knocked it out of the park!

Okay.  Maybe in my mind.

Late iced latte at Joe's Garage.  Decaff.  Hahah

Dinner after karaoke

$30 for the hour from 6 - 7pm.  Great value for the fun we all had.  Off to Joe's and a dinner there.  I love chatting to all these women.  So smart.  Makes me a happy woman.  

Celia was kind enough to drop me off home.  So I was home at 8.30pm or so.  Said hi to my boys.  They had made themselves Louisiana Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes.  The kitchen still bore evidence of the efforts.

Off to bed but I stupidly read for ages.  Slept like a log once I did go to sleep though.  Hahah.  Up to find more rain.  

Going to try and fit spin in after work today.  Yes!

And I have my haircut at 12pm today.  Sweet.
