A 10/10 morning for Mike

Toby was actually stiff and sore this morning from Dragons karate!  He was hobbling around but still telling me how much he loved it.  A new experience for him, being stiff and sore the next morning.  (He should see what it's like when you're in your 30's.)  That's great, I think he'll need to do 'homework' karate to keep in shape for Wednesdays.

Speaking of stiff and sore, I rode my bike in for the first time in ages.  My body told me it was the first time in ages, all the way down the hill.  Time to get back into this, and/or find a plan B for when it's sleeting.  Running up and down the stairs at work again... or a brisk walk with 20kg of water in my backpack.  Ooooh, that all sounds too hard.  Time for a coffee.

I gave myself a 10/10 for morning organisation - because of bonus points for riding but I did lose points for being partly dressed again.  I don't have a belt.  Better pop down to the shop before my pants fall down.

Good morning on Thurs, May 13

Hi,

What a strange morning.  The gorgeous weather has broken with a rainy, slightly gusty morning.  But it is warm.  At 6am, it was 18C already.  Very strange.  I had Toby drop-off duty and we had a very nice morning (I got lots of hugs for some reason).  As I got the bike out of the garage, it started to rain.  I was reasonably wet by the time I rode carefully into the garage at work.

Guess what??  Toby is a yellow belt in karate!  Hooray!  What a clever wee chap.  And that's despite his parents teaching him the wrong reverse punch.  Mike asked the sensei about the reverse punch 10 minutes before the grading started and realised he had to sort it out with Toby.  And Toby did very well.

Mum and Dad came by and cooked dinner last night. They were both a little subdued so I think they are getting a cold or something.  But dinner was scrumptious - tortillas filled with lamb and salad (and rice risotto on the side).  They brought over SingStar, but Toby and I took it over and Mum and Dad fled the house to the safety of their own place.  Heheheh.  Perhaps a session this weekend?

Mike drove the MX-5 in today - for a service and WoF.  It's overdue for both.  I had to help him push it out of the garage this morning.  It nearly started!

We got Benjamin's birthday invitations yesterday (for Sunday dinner).  Mike's Dad also got one.  So, we have Sunday dinner sorted!

In fact, we have swimming, and Barry and Kath coming for Saturday dinner, then Benjamin's party.  So I'm looking at this weekend and enjoying the prospect of a bit of relaxing time.

Have a great day.
Love,
Angela

... and he is a white-belt-two-red-tabs now too

Toby was great in his karate. His nana had him all ready and he was reading and snacking on carrots when I go home to take him there - to calm him down, nana said. Good call after all the excitement of the special afternoon followed mayhem of the tennis! On the way there he said he felt puke sick and he said maybe it was because he was nervous. But after being can't-concentrate, can't-stand-still boy only 2-3 weeks ago he was absolutely focused and still all the way through his karate grading. He did everything perfectly and got 9.5/10 to pass.

I'm very proud.

As a special passing-his-grading present I gave him a Club Penguin Card-jitsu pack. The Club Penguin merchandising tentacles have just reached our shores, you see. Toby was pretty happy with that. We played card-jitsu until dinner.
