The Monday working from home with Spin

 Hi,

Yesterday I worked from home. I did washing. I set RoboMop off to clean. The cats were happy I was there.

Spin

After work I headed to the gym for 18:00 spin. Mike finished his stuff early so went to New World. I did a quick 1km on the treadmill after spin and met him at the supermarket.

Home to eat and go to bed. Hahahah.

My parents are exploring London. So lovely to see pics from there.

Up for my ride into town this morning. Session with Quentin coming up next!

Late edit:

I did a PB in squats this morning.  80kg.  3 reps x 3 sets. And I was cooked. Did bench after that. 45kg. 2 reps x 3 sets. Also cooked. But a PB in squats was very nice.

My parents remembered our 159 bus to Brixton and when they took a photo they also captured a fox scurrying across the road! In broad daylight. Cheeky fox.

A fox and the 159 bus

Quentin on the sweet caffeine boost

The other day Mum and Dad sent us info on Waterloo Bridge. The current bridge was built during WW2 and mostly by women. And when it was bombed during the war, some stones from it were sent here (and elsewhere) and used to make this fountain for Paddy the dog.

So this fountain to Paddy the Airedale dog is near my work

I had no idea about this fountain and I probably walk past it almost every day I am at work. I was looking for it this morning and saw it and now I wonder why I had never checked it out before.

I have an iced latte - ta Shane

Have a great day.

The Monday working from home

 Hi,

I did go for a run yesterday in my lunch break. Into the Otari bush. It was hot work but glad I went. Mike and I both worked from home because he is a bit sick.

Smudge on our bed in the sun

Cats stand off

We actually both tested for covid after our workday in case we had that. Well, I say "we" but in the afternoon I could imagine a scratchy throat. No sign of covid but Mike is definitely sick. Slight cough. Maybe his nose is getting runny. Hahah. And his asthma is kicking in a bit.

Bringing down the house - or the old ceiling anyway

Out it comes

Mike points to key elements

Anyway, it did not keep him back. He got the old ceiling down from the laundry and replaced it with the ply. So easy. Then he tidied up and the place looks fit for Toby and my parents now. Woot!

And up goes the ply

Sourdough

I baked bread and made sandwiches for work and made our overnight porridge. We were both quite industrious.

Tomatoes survived the stormy weather

Mike and Moxley

Off to bed and a good sleep for me. When I left, Moxley was sprawled over the entire bed leaving a small space for Mike.

Gorgeous day for my ride into town. PT session with Quentin. I got a PB in squats - which was quite surprising because I have not done a lot of squat work. 80kg. Not too shabby.

Bit of a rubbish pic from the video - but there you go!

Happy with that effort this year. Thank you Quentin.

Have a great day! Crush it, evceryone!

Love,
Angela

The Wednesday with an unexpected Bin44 dinner with Sally and Andrew

 Hi,

Wednesday - you were a surprise at the end. I got a random iced latte from French Kiss cart with Juliet to kick off the day after my gym session.

Iced latte with Juliet

Iced latte at lunch with Emma and Mike

Mike and I went out with Emma for lunch to discuss ADHD kids and other stuff. Her family is from Stromboli  - just like Carolin's dad. How cool!

Dinner surprise

We were about to head home after work to do nothing when Sally pinged us to say she was at Bin44 with Andrew. So Mike and I went down there and ended up having tea with them.

A quick makeover for Sally's hair

Sally wondered if there was an app for changing your hair colour to see what it looks like. Mike did a bit of googling and research. Nothing was happening. The anticipation was killing me. So I took a pic of Sally and did it myself. Sally will rock any colour, I reckon.

Got home and baked my bread and watched a movie with Mike. Then took our blood pressure with our new device.

Sourdough

My lower number was a bit high. So I will take it regularly for a while and see what is happening with it.

This morning I checked my broccoli before I left the house. It is bigger than on Monday! Woot!

Broccoli is growing

Rode in. Headed to the gym. And got my PB in deadlifts. 110kg. It was hard! My face was very red with that exertion. And possibly I could have locked out a bit better at the top. But it was great! Yay. Thank you Quentin.

Keep going, said Quentin

Got it!

Iced latte at Smith the Grocer

Had brekkie with some work mates this morning. Busy day. Anniversary dinner with Mike tonight. 25 years. Woot!

Weekend we have a lot of mahi around the house. Polyurethane the laundry. Maybe gaze more at the top step to understand what we need to do there.

Have a great weekend.

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday that felt like Wednesday

 Hi,

I got to Extra Extra with Mike for lunch yesterday. But you know, it is not a fave place. Iced latte was too strong and mushroom burrito was a bit average. So, despite Mike loving it, I am not placing it high up my list.

Lunch iced latte with Mike at Extra Extra

Got to the optometrist for my 4pm appt and chatted to Andrew, a lot. Took close to an hour. He checked my vision and apparently my long distance vision has improved. Hahah. And my close up has hardly changed (a quarter of some value). So no need for any changes. 3 more years before I need to go chat to him.

I was a bit late for our meeting in the car park with Mike and Andrew. But traffic flowed okay - if slowly - to the Hutt. Sally was there at Queensgate already and bought us dinner. So we gobbled that down (I had a salad at Nandos) and headed to the IMAX for Stop Making Sense. The Talking Heads concert movie from 1987 or so. Remastered.

In Imax

It was good, tbh. And I didn't know what to expect. Thought I only knew one or two songs of theirs really well. Turns out I knew most of them. And David Byrne was a genius in his own, unique way. His concert was a truly theatrical experience.

Dropped Sally and Andrew home and got home ourselves. Fed the cats. Went to bed. I didn't sleep super well. But up early to ride into town with fantastic weather.

Wednesday is a cracker of a day

Iced latte from Quentin

I lifted that!

I did get an iced latte from Quentin at my PT session with him this morning. Do you think if my PT asks me if I want an iced latte as he heads to the gym, that I actually have to admit to an addiction? Ooohhhh.

Anyway - it worked a treat. PB in squat rack. 55kg. 3 reps x 5 sets. I might have been grunting a bit on my last set because the guy in the rack next to me clapped when I racked the last one. Said well done.

Maybe my wobbly legs made it look tough? Hahah.

Then back to work. And some caffeinated fast talking from me has meant Erin has asked me to cut down on my morning intake of iced lattes. Hahahah.

Spin after work today. Then ride home and pack for the weekend. Me and Mike. Mike for his Peak to Pub race at Mt Hutt with Toby and Kara. Me to Blenheim with Maureen for some fun with Iona and Col.

Busy, eh?

Have a great day.
Love,
Angela
