The weekend with AFL and a half marathon

 Hi,

What a weekend.  Mike worked on the garage after boot camp Saturday and we can now finally fit both cars in.  For the first time since we had these two cars.  As you can see, we have a tad more stuff at the front of the car to find a spot for so you can easily walk around the front.

Got the cars in the garage

Sunday morning we were up early (5.30am) to get Mike fed and ready for his half marathon.  Kapiti Coast went ahead with theirs as they had lower numbers and could run it with social distancing in place.  Janine and Mike ran in warm, humid conditions.  Mike did well.
Ready to go!

Good work! Mike was happy with the plan but wanted to be faster

Meanwhile I headed out for the AFL game through rain.  Got to the Hutt Park and the sunshine came out.  It was hot and humid.  Yuck.

First game for me in the new strip.  I scored two goals (a bit opportunist - loose play and my boot connected) and a behind or two.

Headed home while Mike and Janine celebrated their race with lunch at Longbeach in Waikanae.

Post AFL - in the new strip

Flashback to last weekend

Windbreak to the right to protect the chili plant that is hanging on

Mike and I put up the windbreak to try and protect the chili plant.  It was gorgeous when we first planted it and then the very next day it got stripped to the stalk by fierce winds.  However, it has since leafed up again.  Clinging to life with tenacity.

We've put in a windbreak - no idea if that will survive any decent winds itself.  But let's see, eh?

Early night but I had a restless sleep.  Woke up in some half dream composing emails for work.  OMG.  Enough of that!

Covid is oozing down the motu.  Hoping it doesn't disrupt our plans for tramping at the end of this week.  We're off for two weeks down south.  It's going to be epic.

Have a lovely week ahead.  And a smashing Monday.

Love,

Angela
