The Wednesday with dinner out

Hi,

Another busy day in the life.  But I did get lunch at Machete with Celia, so I did get my daily dose of iced latte from there.  Mmmmm.

Iced latte lunch with Celia

Met up with Andrew after work and we walked to Churchills to meet everyone for tea.  It was so noisy and crowded we left and went to Dillingers.  We had a drink while waiting for others.  But one of our party secured a table back at Churchills so back we went.

Had a nice dinner with Sally, Andrew, Mike, Christine, Tom and Christine's friend Rachel.  Happy birthday dinner for Christine.

Good to catch up with them.  Home late though and managed to get a wash on and hung out.  Yay.

Drove in this morning.  Complicated logistics with two cars coming in, Mike going for a walk after work with the one I drove in, and dragon boat training and somehow collecting the other car if it is fixed.

Sigh.

Should be entertaining.

Have a good one!

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday that felt like it should already be Friday

Hi,

Happy birthday to Christine today.

Not sure I have ever had two days at work feel more like 5 before.  Hahahah!  Toby is doing better with his sore ribs, but he did stay at home yesterday.

Iced latte with Celia and Bronwyn at Machete - Mmmmm

I met some of Mike's friends after work while Mike went home to sort out Toby and dinner.  Weird arrangement.  Hahahah.

As I went to meet them, I bumped into Fran and we chatted for a bit - that was a very nice surprise.  We really need a brekkie date soon.  And as I left her to rush to my meeting point, Cate (also from NZTE days) came up and said hello.  It's amazing who you meet on the corner of a Wellington road at 5.30pm.

I went out to Little Penang for a quick dinner before seeing Black Panther at the Reading cinema.  I quite enjoyed the movie - never knew anything much about this comic book character.  But it was equal parts political comment and action.  I admit to laughing my head off when the female warrior took her despised wig off and threw it at her assailant.  Hilarious.  And it was good to catch up with Jo, Jon and Momo for the movie.  Especially on a school night.  I was well past my bedtime by the time the movie credits rolled.

Caught the bus home afterwards and crashed into bed.  Did my census form as per my lawful and civic duty.  The website was very responsive - good work on that IT effort, NZ Stats!  It was as if I had it all to myself.  Which I bet was nowhere near the truth.

And raining this morning!  Ooohhhh.  How unusual.

Have the best day!

Love,
Angela

The Monday back at work

Hi,

Well, I had to leave work at 11am yesterday and collect Toby from school and take him to see a doctor.  He had fallen down stairs at school and hurt his ribs.  Short of breath and in a lot of pain.

They want my husband!  Well, everyone wants an asthma stud.

Anyway, we got to the after hours care place at 1130am and saw the nurse.  She referred us to the doctor.  He felt the ribs and listened to Toby's breathing.  Got an ultrasound from another doctor.  And they decided no lungs were compromised and it wasn't worth an x-ray to deny or confirm broken ribs.  So, Toby went home, with orders to rest and make sure his breathing doesn't change.

More progress with the landscapers

I got home late and cooked spag bol for my sad wee boy.  He was happy to get that.  Mike got home late from his navigation theory exercise.  Landscapers are making huge in-roads.  The sparky came and did most of his outstanding work.  Apparently we get plasterers any day now.

Such a warm night.  This summer has been amazing.  Walked into work in shorts and a t-shirt.  On the 6th of March!  Just fantastic.

Got Black Panther after work tonight.  That should be good.

Have a great day.

Love,
Angela

The weekend with Toby and me at home and Mike cross dressing

Hi,

I dropped Mike off at the train station just after 4.30pm on Friday and he transferred his gear from the Subaru to the van.

Are you ok with that phone?

Yes?

Did you actually take one?

More landscaping progress

I headed home and he headed to Ruapehu.  Unfortunately for him, the stress of the busy week and then the drive up gave him a migraine during the night.  He woke feeling woozy and spent the day in bed!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...  Toby and I got up for gym work.  He had his personal trainer session and I tried out the treadmill, bike, leg press and stair climbing machines.  Home, via the supermarket to get some groceries.

And I made sushi for Toby

We moved some furniture around and I made an even bigger space to get to our bed.  Yay!  Although Mike says the plasterer is coming on Tuesday so I have to move things back again. Doh!

Sunday saw Ethan coming to visit.  Toby entertained him for a few hours before he headed off.  And I went to collect Mike from the train station after he got back.

The weather was stunning - both days.  It is still pretty warm outside now too.  But the forecast has rain in the offering - with some strong winds.  And the forecast for race day isn't looking too flash.  Rain.

Oh well - it can still change.

Have a brilliant week.

Love,
Angela

The Thursday with dragon boat training.

Hi,

Iced latte @ Machete

Purple shirt Thursday - evidence at Machete for an iced latte.  Well, under my jersey that I need to keep me warm in the freezing office.

After work we had our second last dragon boat training session ahead of the big race day.  I was so flat - and after I realised it was because I hadn't had time for lunch.  Nutrition!  Doh!

Mike picked me up - so good to get home nice and fast.  Toby never had a play - it is next week.  But Toby is a little bit mopey - he and Sahara broke up.  Don't ask me any details - that is the extent of all I know.  And that is because Mike told me.

This weekend Mike is away to Ruapehu and Toby and I have some tasks to do here.  I have to paint the weatherboards before the scaffolding disappears next week.  And I want to move some furniture out of our bedroom.

Right.  Busy, busy.  Have a great weekend.

Love,
Angela

The Wednesday with stuff

Hi,

After a frantic day, I managed to fit Spin in, right at the end.  And the after work classes are an hour long - so excellent substitute.

Got home and found the landscapers had made more progress - how cool is that?

Oh - our retaining walls are insulated!

Progress - every day

Cooked tea for Toby then went back into town to collect my bike - and Mike.  Super effort, that one!  Collecting two things with one route.

Back home, and Mike made a wonderful tea for himself with my starters and his endings.  And then laundry and bed.

Nice ride into work this morning - stunning day.  Dragon boating tonight.

Have a good one.

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday with Mike coming back

Hi,

Today is the last day of birthday month.  What a great month it has been.

I got to meet up with Andrew and Ed and June for a coffee after Spin yesterday.  We chatted about tramping things and Andrew and June will do some walks together at some stage.  Cool.

Iced latte with Andrew, Ed and June @ Machete

Wow - the landscapers are amazing!

I wasn't well during the day and chewed through vitamin C tablets to stave off impending doom.  But I think it was temporary.  I feel ok now.

Toby went to a play at TSB for his drama class - so I dropped him off after cooking him chicken schnitzels.  I am the best mother!

Mike got home from Auckland and we went to bed.  And waited and waited for Toby to get home.  He had no phone with him.  And, Mike said he would never have left Toby in town at night with no contact method.

Oh.  I am actually the worst mother.

Toby eventually got home, soaking wet as he walked home.  He jumped in the shower and went to bed.  He was very cute as he told us about the play.  He has another one on Thursday night.

I need to find him his phone.  He's misplaced it.

Right.  Time to enter the day of craziness, for real.

Have a great day.

Love,
Angela
