The Wednesday with no energy left

Hi,

So - yesterday.  Yesterday was an exercise in stupidity from me.  Weetbix at 5.30am.  Spin at 6.30am.  Spin at 12.10pm.  No lunch.  Rock climbing at 5.30pm.  Home by 7.45pm to finally get something to eat.

My body is not happy with me.

At the moment, I am typing like a T-Rex.  Little useless arms.  Please don't ask me to do anything that involves me raising my arms above my heart.

With Joe @ some cake place.  Creamy iced latte.
Did get an iced coffee yesterday with Joe.  It was a bit too creamy.

Rock climbing with work was such fun.  I was running late due to dire work stuff.  Got there and climbed with Ella.  She was amazing.  Me?  Not so much.  Ran out of oomph.  Couldn't hold onto much at all.

My forearms were shot.  I think the boxing the day before with the manic day on Wed meant I had no energy.

But this morning is another day.  And I intend to eat my way through the day.  And not do too much exercise.  PT session this morning was so hard on my T-Rex arms.  But - got through it.  Managed to wash my hair afterwards.

Also got an iced latte date in with Mike at Mojo under the Spark building.  So good too!

Looking half asleep

Trying to lift my iced latte

Please just take the pic

Lifting it up!

I can't hold it, I can't hold it...

The weather is expected to change soon - Mothers Day is not looking very flash.  Maybe I can stay at home in my hoody and yoga pants and read all day, being ferried scrumptious food by my minions?  Hahahah.  I can fantasise.

Have an awesome day!

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday with work

Hi,

Wishing my mother all the best for her op this morning - that she snuck in and only told me a day or so ago.  Gah!  I wanted to go over for it.  But - I hope it goes super well and it is successful.  She should be home by Friday.  I will update you all.

Crazy days at work.  Ok - that seems normal now.  But I did get iced coffee dates in my day.

Machete!

Also caught up with Mike at work and we squashed in lunch for him - and an iced coffee @ The Lab for me.

What are you doing, Mike?

Are you taking selfies?

You got this yet?

I tried boxing in the morning and had a great time.  I have sore forearms now.  Hahah.  Got Spin in after work  and then picked up the car and drove home.

Mike was entertaining Sue from tramping over a cuppa and he had my dinner ready.  Awwww.

Had a good sleep and in early for Spin this morning.  Woot!

Hope your day is a good one.

Love,
Angela

The Monday at work

Hi,

Turns out I was so busy today that I forgot I had started this.  It sat, all forlorn, in an window I had buried in other work.
Iced latte to kick off the week

Sluuurrrrppp

Let's see?    Work fairly hurtled along to the end of the day.  I managed to get to spin after work and then vaguely co-ordinate with Mike to get home on the bus.

I drove Tessa home with Toby at 8.30pm and collected my bike from work in an impressive display of Gilbert Logistics.

We should totally take that global!  Trucks all over the world.  Shipping stuff.  Possibly with an insurance partnership to help when we deliver stuff late, and to the wrong place.  :-p

Right.  The day is halfway done and dusted at work.  Oosshh!

Enjoy yours.

Love,
Angela

The weekend with a Mana Island visit

Hi,

I was very excited to finally get back to Mana Island for a visit after seeing it about 25 years ago with my mother, Vince and Sally and Andrew.  This weekend was a day trip with me and Toby.  But to see the changes and enjoy the island once more was a fabulous experience.

Toby and I left at 8.40am on Saturday in the Subaru and we navigated fairly easily to the Mana marina (ok, maybe a slight detour down to NgatiToa Domain first).  We sat in the car as we were very early.  Toby chilled to some music.  I read.

At 9.40am we wandered out to meet the rest of the 30 punters.  Jackie was co-organising it (she knows Mike) and she came over to say hello to us.  We also chatted to Pam and Peter - and Dean who met us at the Endgame movie last week.  I didn't know anyone else.  Toby and I were kinda wishing we had Mike there to socialise.

The skipper of the boat asked us to empty our bags to check for rodents before we got on board.  The boat trip out was smooth - left the marina at 10am and took about 20 mins.  We went up onto the beach and all hopped off the gangplank off the bow.  The ranger living on the island met us and took us to the woolshed where he explained about the island.  About 13 km of track.  Takehe on the island are breeding.  Kiwi are there too.  Rowi - I think (one of the rarest of kiwi).  We heard plenty of birds.  Kakariki flew overhead as he talked.

Getting off the boat

Toby and I headed off clockwise around Tirohanga track while the rest of the punters went anti-clockwise.  We enjoyed the track so much.  Saw one other person before we headed up the hill.  I think he was from the previous boat an hour ahead of us.

Walking up clockwise on Tirohanga track

About halfway around Tirohanga track

Beautiful feathers

We didn't see any takahe on our walk (although other punters did once we compared notes at the end).  But we had such a good walk.  We got to the trig where the old lighthouse used to be at the same time as our group and had lunch there.  Toby played with a kiwi conservation dog from DoC.

Walking, walking

Walking

We got back to the beach with 2 hours to spare and enjoyed a rest on the beach, in a shallow gully to keep out of the wind.  Even so, we ended up with all our spare clothes on to keep warm.

Bit more of a bumpy ride back - got some Maccas from Johnsonville for Toby on the way home - and in our house by 5.30pm.

I was pretty tired and asleep by about 9.30pm.  Only to be woken by Toby doing housework at 11.30pm!  He was putting a wash on and doing the luxing.  Turns out the prospect of having Tessa come over the next morning was enough to make him tidy.  I just wish it wasn't at midnight.

Mind you, he didn't keep me awake.  After I shouted out the washing machines instructions, I was comatose once more.

Moxley reminds me to get up

Sunday was lazy.  Bit of laundry.  Mike got home around 2pm and we went grocery shopping.  He survived the weekend in fine style.

And that was our weekend.  All good fun.

Hope your week ahead is a good one.

Love,
Angela

The Thursday with parent teacher interviews

Hi,

We headed off from work on time to get to Toby's school for parent/teacher interviews.  He joined us there and we met all his teachers.

Toby was quietly pleased with how well it went.  The teachers are all positive.  One called him a rock star.  Oosshh!  But he needs to be more organised and on time for that biology class that is early.

Toby and I went to Nandos for tea and Mike went off on a pub crawl to find Andrew.  Toby and I went home and I jumped in the car and took gear to work and collected  my bike.

Meanwhile, Mike and Andrew kicked on with the pub crawl.  Mike woke me at 11pm.  I barely noticed.

Up early for my ride in.

Weekend beckons.  Mike is off camping for survivor night.  Toby and I have Mana Island on Saturday to look forward to.

I want a cafe brekkie on Sunday with Toby.

That is the extent of the weekend plans.

Enjoy yours!

Love,
Angela

The Wednesday with work stuff

Hi,

Turns out the days I have no iced coffee dates I take no pics.  Hahahah.  But my phone did throw up some "On this day" from 2014 and Toby looked so cute!

Toby from 2014 and visiting Ma and Pa and Australia Zoo

He's still cute.  But taller.  And... well, I think Mike called him buff the other evening.  Hahah.  So he's muscly.

Rode home last night and enjoyed it.  Slow grind up the hill - but no wind.  Woot!  Mike cooked tea and I pretty much sat down to eat as soon as I stepped into the house.  Winning!

Another ride in this morning.  PT session - my arms are useless now.  Parent/teacher interviews after work today.  Hope that goes well.

Have an awesome day!

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday at work

Hi,

Tuesday came and went like a Tuesday really.

Did catch up for iced coffees - and Ed took some weirdo slow motion drinking shot.  But my phone isn't syncing that to the cloud - so you are all lucky you don't get that weirdness to witness.

Morning iced latte

Lunch iced latte @ The Lab

Got home and cooked tea for me and Mike.  Toby ate his a little later.  We all seemed to enjoy it.  And Mike did his taxes!  OMG.  Woot!

Guess what also happened?  I rode my bike into work for the first time in forever!  Such fun.  Although my disc brake is rubbing against the pads.

Have a lovely day!

Love,
Angela
