The Monday with Spin and SpiderMan

Hi,

Ok - getting up at 3am to watch football, going to PT session at 6.30, working like an idiot at normal work stuff, then spin for an hour after work and dinner and a movie and home at 11pm and up again at 5am is NOT the right way to manage my work life balance.

Sleep.  I need more of that.

Iced latte goodness @ Machete

Far from home!

But SpiderMan was good.  I guess I was hoping for it to be even better than it was.  But Toby rated it as the best Marvel movie he has seen.  Pffbbbttt.  Nothing is better than Guardians of the Galaxy.  And Endgame.

Dropped Tessa at home and was in bed by 11pm.  Or just afterwards.

Anyway - drinks after work for Andrew's birthday (which was last week).  Yay!

Enjoy your day loads.

Love,
Angela

The weekend in Wellington

Hi,

What a crazy weekend.  Mike had to work for great swathes of it - it's a shame for him.  But we did get to Quentin's group session on Saturday morning.  Glutes work out.  Good to see Chloe and Hayden back from their European holiday.  Off to Glass for brunch.  Quite good.  They made me an iced latte - top points for giving that a go!  Thank you.  Food was good - Toby would love their poached eggs.

Went to buy my trekking sneakers for Nepal.  And Mike bought some too.

My feet as I run

I dropped Toby off in town to get clown costume stuff and then off at Ethan's so they could film the clown thingy.

No - I have no clue.

Back home the long way (drove around the bays in the rain to see the giant rolling southerly waves crash in).  Got Moxley cuddles while reading on the couch.

I met Mike at New World after his work and we got groceries.

Sunday was painting day.  And laundry day.  I had a mountain of laundry!  Mike went back to work.  And I managed to get primer on, and a layer of top coat.  Mike finished the last top coat layer when he got home late Sunday!

First top coat
Toby was telling me about his fashion aesthetic.  We googled it - and found it!

So this is chav fashion

And my son's aesthetic - he's a chav!

He's so funny.

I got up at 3am Monday morning to watch the football world cup final.  USA nailed it.  2 - 0 (penalty kick to Rapinoe plus a great goal from Lavelle).  Poor Netherlands.

And Megan Rapinoe - just because.

Toby is on holidays.  And away on Wednesday with Tessa and her family to Chc.  For a week.  OMG.  I will miss him lots.

Have a brilliant day!

The weather is stunning here.

Angela

The Thursday with The Trip with Khemry and Kaustubh

Hi,

I caught up with Mike for an unexpected drink at the end of work with Steph and Paula.  That was a pleasant way to end the day at work.  Hahahah.

Then I went to The Trip with Khemry - and we managed to convince Kaustubh that he should tag along with us.

The Trip is a huge spin room with a massive screen that displays a CGI cycle route.  It is a bit like being on another planet.  This one had snow at the start and then flying tiger skin mantra rays.  Maybe we were under the sea?  Kaustubh said he loved it!  Yes!  And he will try and come next time Khemry has a free pass.  :-)  Thanks Khemry.

Yep - that was fun!

Wandered back to work and texted Mike to see if he was ready to leave his end of financial year party.  He was next to work, at Pop.

He was!  And he brought along three people that wanted a lift home.  I drew the line at a drop off to Palmerston North.  But Khandallah and Newlands were absolutely fine.

Home and bed.

Today is yucky weather.  But Spin this morning was ace.  And I was bike 19 (out of 20) - so busy!

Weekend beckons.  We have house tasks.  Sigh.

Enjoy your weekend.

Love,
Angela

The Wednesday with love from Celia

Hi,

Anticipation in my iced latte pics this morning.  Andrew came along and we sat with Mike and discussed his broken body (he was just back from the gym - where he is making such progress!!!).

Stir, stir.

Something shiny catches my eye...

I can't wait!

After work we were going to go out to quiz night.  But we were on again, off again.  The indecision meant Andrew nabbed the chance to get home early with Sally (train chaos) and flag the quiz.  It took them ages to get home!  Wow.

Meanwhile, we stayed and worked until there were only three of us keen on the quiz.  Which, well, didn't happen because at the crucial time it was raining.  Hard.  So we all piked.  I caught the bus home with Mike and he cooked tea while I prepped for painting.

Eventually I got to bed and opened Facebook.  And found the nicest post from Celia (she had an anniversary reminder of our friendship on that social media platform).  I found the corresponding pic in Instagram that Serge took at the same moment as Celia's selfie stick shot.  Inception!

Friend moment

Celia is the best!

:-)

Have an awesome day.

Angela

The Tuesday with work stuff

Hi,

Work was fairly manic with a bit of a shuffle around.  But all good in the end.  I did get away for lunch with Andrew and his cousin Dot, which was nice.  I don't see Dot much, and she is great fun to chat to about all sorts.

Apparently I look half asleep today

Met Mike after work and then went to Flamingo Joe's to see Ilske.  Haven't seen her for so long!  She looks great - and we caught up with news.  Her travels and future travel plans.  Our cats.  Hahah.  Our cars.

Wandered back home and pretty much crashed into bed and slept like a log.  Bliss.

Up for spin this morning - and a coffee with Andrew and Dot to kickstart the day.  Trains are broken completely today - so it is chaos.  Sally and Andrew drove in at 5.30am or something silly.  But at least they are at work.  Unlike a lot of people.

Have a great day!

Love,
Angela

The Monday back at work

Hi,

Happy birthday to Andrew.

Iced latte Monday

Iced latte Tuesday
Seriously - I only have one a day!  Ok.  Most days, I have one a day.  This morning (Tuesday) I had boxing.  And it was so good!  I think I quite love it.

And then I had an iced latte with Flo  my boxing (and Spin) instructor.  That was good fun.

The iced latte pic from this morning is a selfie.  I always look slightly insane when I take selfies.  OMG.  I totally am not down with the kids.  Yo!

Scabby nose is progressing well.  I couldn't wear my glasses on my bike ride on Saturday because it sits right on top of it.  So - bring on the healing!

Mike was doing crazy amounts of work until late.  And I am sure he fluffed around after he got home.  But he got off to the gym on schedule this morning.  Oosshh!

And we are meeting Ilske after work today.  Yippee!  Can't wait to catch up with her.

Enjoy your day!

Love,
Angela

The weekend in Wellington for me and Ruapehu for Mike

Hi,

Had a sad Thursday with Rex's last day at work.  I know I will see him, but it won't be the same.  Thank you for all the friendship at work.

Thursday iced coffee date with Rex and Jo - goodbye Rex

Friday was crazy - but I did get away with Joycie to enjoy Machete.  Mmmmm.

Crazy Dutch angles from Joycie on Friday!  While I read her phone.

And then I met Carl, finally.  He is over for work from Melbourne and I love to catch up with him.  Check in on how his life is tracking.

Ok - I miss him too.  :-)

Everyone should just come back.

Iced coffee with Carl!

Cheers Carl!

Saturday saw me up early to head out on a bike ride with Andrew.  It had been a while since we had been on bikes together.  It was windy!  Hahahah.

Andrew collected me at 9am from home in the silver bullet and we headed over the hill to Featherston.  Yep - windy there too.

Started around 10.15/10.30am.  Headed south down the road towards the beach.  The side wind was fierce and at one stage I did end up on the shoulder.  Oops.  Stayed upright.  All good.

Hey Jo - look what I have!  Bike ride with Andrew

We stopped at a weir and checked it out.  I had a Time Out just for Jo.  But after 5 or 10 mins poking around there, we hopped on our bikes again, only for Andrew to get a puncture straight away.

I guess it took about 25 mins out of our ride.  It was an old tube - and the tyres are a bit flaky too.  But it held up for the remainder of the ride.  Except his left hand gear shifter exploded and meant he was stuck in one cog at the front.

Excitement.
Heart rate around Lake Wairarapa

Got back to Featherston - I guessed about 65km.  So quite relaxed, really.  We went to the Everest bakery cafe.  The iced coffee was ok.  Andrew wasn't overly impressed.  But I drank mine without any issues around taste.  Hahahah.  6/10 maybe?

The cauliflower pizza was "cauliflowery".  Yep - tasted like cauli.  Andrew's roasted mushrooms were way better.

What are you actually doing with my phone?  Is it on selfie mode?

Ok - let me try and pose

Nope - just manic.

Feet at the cafe

Got back to Whites Line and chatted to Sally while Andrew got ready for his social evening.  Then he dropped me home where I showed him the earthworks.

Awesome earthworks by Allworks!  Back yard is looking good.

Next day was lazy.  Laundry.  Toby had mates around.  Mike got home around 5.30pm and we headed out to watch the Matariki fireworks.

Matariki fireworks.  From Wadestown hill.

Slept like the dead.  Seriously.

Hope your week is a good one.

Love,
Angela
