Angela's sidebar - Walking from Siwai to Berethanti

We left Siwai after a tea break to walk to Birethanti. Me, Bachan, Hai, Tracey and Karna. The harder (we thought) more interesting way compared to taking a cushy bus.

We spent a bit of time walking on the road as well as paths through farmlets. It was hot work as the sun finally peeked out from the clouds. After about an hour we came to an awesome tea house. Here is where I saw my first Nepali cat of the trip.  The garden was immaculate with produce growing everywhere. The sign promised organic veges and we could see exactly where they came from.

The owner of the tea house was busy with other groups of tourists. Bachan ordered lunch but no one was available to cook. So Karna cooked everything. We saw him frying our chips and he also made and fried the delicious spring rolls. Yum, yum.

Yum yum

We were here a long time though. Probably an hour or more.  Left in the sunshine and got down to the raging glacial river, the Modi. We walked through a quarry with massive yellow Tonka trucks. At an intersection. a bus met two Tonka trucks. We fled as they all came to a stop right where we were walking by.

Karna found beans growing along the way and he and I shared one. Juicy and tasty.

Thunder started to rumble overhead and we felt a few drops of rain, but nothing came of it.

Got to Birethanti and found the accommodation - Green View Lodge. Mike was already checked in so all I had to do was take a welcome cold shower.
