The weekend in Wellington with no Toby and a party

Hi,

What a great weekend.  Except for the "no Toby" part.  I do miss him.  But he sends pictures of his adventures and it looks like he is having such a good time.  He's gone fishing in Taupo and loves eating fresh trout.  They looked at the full moon through a telescope too.

I got some laundry done at home Saturday and took the tree down.  Finally.  Found out the boys had kept the fact my favourite Christmas bauble fell off the tree and smashed a big secret from me.  Waaaaahhh.  I bought that glass bauble at the Munich Weihnachtsmarkt.  Irreplaceable.  I tried to blame the cats, but Mike swears he and Toby were just sitting there, watching TV when it just launched itself off the tree for no reason.

It's no longer Christmas.

Headed out at 2.30pm to collect Steph and Bronwyn.  Poor Joycie was still too sick to come to Rachael's party.  Picked up Nicky on the way out.  Bronwyn and Nicky tried to navigate me to Rachael's house, but got caught up in their respective news and ignored my question about turning right at the roundabout to say:  go straight.

Which I did.  So we ended up going around Whitemas Valley the long way to get to Rachael's house, which is not far from Blue Mountain Road.  Hahahah.

Sitting on a hay bales, channeling my Miley Cyrus.  Not!

Happy birthday Rachael

It was a great party.  Watched Rachael enjoying her day.  Met her family and friends.  Verified Richard is real.  Nicky and Steph and I sang and danced towards the end.  Dubious renditions of Elton John songs.

Headed home quite late.  Maybe 9.30pm or so.  Not sure really.  Into bed when I got home and read before falling asleep.

If you want a dessert, La Cloche's iced coffee is the best.  Sally said:  it has frou frou

Up lazily for brunch at La Cloche with Sally and Andrew.  Mike wasn't lazy because he went for a run before that and did well under 30 minutes for his 5km.  Caned it.  Also puked.  But hey - he is totally owning this half marathon thing.

Moxley goes for a walk

We bought Moxley a leash fromn Animates and tried it out.  She loves it!

On leash

Smudge doesn't need a leash

With Toby away, no one is eating the Weetbix.  Or milk.

Made dinner.  Mushroom Wellington.  Owned that like a boss.  Mike was impressed.  And off to bed.  For an awful sleep.  Gah!

Rainy here today.  Drove in.  Got dragon boat training after work at Freyberg pool and again tomorrow.  It's every Tuesday now until the big race day on March 7th.

Have a great week!

Love,
Angela
