The weekend of adventure and the Monday back at work

 Hi,

Well, I had a look back at the weekend blog - and realised I didn't do it yesterday.  Sigh.  Busy times.  So now I am going to tell you about the weekend - and about our Monday.

Moxley chilling in the pumpkin

Saturday saw us at boot camp in the park - and it is our second last one.  Probably ever!  Good session.  Then I got changed at work while Mike bought a compass and headed to Eastbourne on the ferry.

Boot camp

Mike was off to meet Janine and Andrew and bag two secret huts in the hills behind Eastbourne.  And they had a good day for it too.

They found a secret hut

and another secret hut

and a huge rata with big roots

Meanwhile, I met Maureen and we drove up to the top of Cuba St and went to Floriditas for brunch.  Great iced latte there!  I had some heirloom tomato green tea dish -and it was delicious. Maureen's scrambled eggs looked so good!

Headed home after saying goodbye to Maureen.  And then out to collect Sally and lunch at Sea Salt (old Cobar) in Eastbourne.

The others were delayed and by the time we ordered and ate our lunch, the kitchen was closed so Mike, Janine and Andrew missed out on food.

Boo!

Headed home to Sally and Andrew's place via Zany Zeus to get another iced latte (yay for them making those now!!) and haloumi rolls.

Mmmmm.

OMG.  #3 from Zany Zeus

Sunday saw us doing some things around the house.  Mike got a lot of the electrical work done.  And a little left to finish off on Monday evening.

I am beautiful

Our cats are getting closer

Sunday evening saw us meet Adnan at Brew'd after a quick run and shower at 40WLW.  3km around the bridges.  Good for a 20 min pressed-for-time run.

Chatted away to Adnan at the pub with Mike.  Then headed to the trapline induction session in someone's house nestled into the eastern Hutt hills.  Andrew joined us and we listen to Rosemary and Melody explain the H&S aspects and the likely traplines.  Had a look at a DoC 200.  Got a hi-viz beanie and vest.  And now we book in a walk with the lead of the trapline and get the familiarity with the routes and roster etc.

Monday was busy at work.  As I said.  Because - forgot to blog.  Wow!  As I left to meet Juliet and Barb at the Shepherd's Arms in Tinakori Rd, I noticed our broccoli looking mighty fine.  Mmmmm.

Broccoli looking good

Saw Barb and Juliet.  Ate some food.  And I dropped them home and then got home myself to find all  the electrical work done.

Sweet.

Good sleep and then a ping from Andrew came as I was about to start the PT session with Quentin asking about Venus.  Sure enough - checked outside and found a stunning sight with the  crescent moon.

Morning crescent moon, with Venus.  And you can also see Saturn and Mars faintly.

Look what the Sky Chart says!

Closer view!

We could see Venus really well.  And faintly, Saturn and Mars.  Spectacular.  What a way to start the day.

Hope your day is a good one.  Wellington is turning on the best looking autumn day.  :-)

Love,
Angela
