The weekend with birthdays and dinners and movies

 Hi,

It was good to get the quarterly planning day out of the way on Friday. And it was the last day for Nick at work so we went to see him off in fine style. Andrew joined us because Mike and I had a date with a restaurant that makes Nepali food and Andrew had decided to join us.

It also meant that Maureen finally got to meet Andrew. I think they chatted about bikes for a bit. Hahah.

The Nepalese place was in Rugby House on Molesworth St and it was delicious. Andrew and I had chilli momo and Mike had a curry. And it was all very nice. Would eat there again. And they deliver.

Finally get the two together

Run Saturday morning - maybe another Park Run is close!

Up Saturday for Park Run for Mike and a run on the treadmill at City Fitness for me. Mike was going to do 10km, but towards the end of his first 5km he tweaked his right calf. So now he is hobbling a wee bit. Uh oh. Janine was there with a dog she is looking after. Bruno. Seems like he was a bit of a handful on the run. He's not coming back to another one, she said.

Gym fun!

Sally and I met up and did a gym session. Bench and deads. Great fun!

Brekkie at the new cafe under the new hotel

Andrew came in and met us at the new cafe under the Siebel hotel. Yeah, nah. I mean, it was ok. But just a bit soulless. And they did not have coffee as a priority for their punters. I mean - come on! Mike had to go order at the counter for them. Hahahah.

Off to Epuni to pick up the trailer and take it home for its WoF this week. And then change and head back to the Hutt via the train station (to collect Jill) for tea with my work mates at Helen and Mike's house.

Turns out they live in a mansion. Like, really.

Amazing dinner at Helen and Mike's place

Well, the house suits Helen and Mike. I felt so welcomed - they must really love this sort of thing. We all got a fancy place card and Eva and Charlie got a wee pot plant to take home. The food was great - the conversation flowed. Thank you so much for opening your home. We loved it all. Wee Libby and Lulu entertained us too. And thanks for the house tour, Mike.

We dropped Jill home to Paraparaumu and enjoyed the roadie. Home and into bed. Then a slightly lazier morning for Andrew's birthday on Sunday. We got up and popped into La Cloche to get some brunch stuff. Took them over with coffees and enjoyed a birthday brunch before heading to Epuni.

Mike got into the roof space and laid out the batts up there. Quite hot hard work. Once that was under way, I turned off the newly uncovered toby and started draining the header and pipes. We took off the old kitchen tap and went to Mitre10 to get a replacement. Headed back via Sally and Andrew's to get a hacksaw for a new brass pipe fitting - and a shower for Mike to get rid of glass fibres on his body. Got back to Epuni and fitted the tap without too much bother. We used hemp as the layer to really seat and bind the pipes. Once Mike took off the aerator and found some muck from the pipes had blocked that, the kitchen taps were running like a boss. Well done!

Off to Queensgate for the second Into the Spider Verse movie. I loved it! Wow! What a great movie.

Then home and into bed.

WFH today. Busy. Into work proper tomorrow though.

Have a brilliant week!

Love,

Angela
