The Wednesday with some stuff

Hi,

It's kinda like my Friday today.  Off to see Iona and Col today for a long weekend.  And as an extra added bonus, I get to see Mike, Toby and Tessa in Blenheim tomorrow.

Iced latte with Roanne and Ange

Porcupine legs

More acupuncture at the physio yesterday.  And despite Andrew's comments on the relative sizes of my legs, it did work well.  Squatted after it with no pain in the knee.

Had coffee with Ange and Roanne.  Then got away early with Ange to collect her car from her mechanics and she kindly dropped me home.  Woot!

Packed for my weekend.  Sorted out the cats.  They have fresh kitty litter and so much food to eat their way through.

In the morning I propped open all the doors (in case the dumb cats close themselves in somewhere) and topped up their food.  Guess it is already gobbled up by now.  Hahahah.

Off to the gym.  Arm day.  My biceps are pumped.  :-p

Going to see Hannah for brekkie now.  Wow.  So excited to catch up with her.  I hope Mike manages to see her this weekend or early next week before she heads away again.

Take care.

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday that was rather boring without my boys

Hi,

When you are by yourself, you hardly ever take any pics.  Hence not many pics to plonk on my post this morning.  But the Beehive always draws my eye whenever I pass by.  And last night as I walked home, the gorgeous, crisp evening made it look even more amazing than usual.

My walk home last night

I know the building has its detractors and I know I have never actually worked in the building to know its foibles.  But it is so distinctive with its squat shape and just... round cuteness... that I always have to look at it.

Anyway, work was work.  I had a lovely lunch looking at the water with Angie, Juliet and Barb.  Chatting away.

In fact, it seemed the whole day I was ready to talk Juliet's ear off.  Must be the lack of company at home, eh?  Hahahah.  And here I thought I was a total introvert.  :-p

It was so nice a day that the evening came and I decided to walk home.  My knee was so much better - it didn't even twinge on the steps on the way up the hill.  Yes!  And really, it doesn't take that long to get home.  Maybe 45 mins?  Something like that.

Mike, Toby and Tessa went to visit the Forbes family.  Made me wish I was with them.  :-)

Have an awesome day.

Love,
Angela

The Monday with no one

Hi,

It's definitely weird without Mike and Toby.  Yesterday I worked from home and also managed to wash the inside of Toby's windows in my lunch break.

Trello board getting caned.

Well, okay, a subtask got done.  Nothing moved on the board. Mike will be disappointed.

Moxley wanted attention - so I took a photo and chopped off her feet

Here are her feet

Then she moved to a more comfy place.  Thanks.

Cat is obviously missing the company because around 4pm she decided she had been ignored for long enough and got up in my face.  Starting biting me.  Biting my cap.  Putting her paw on any bare skin and just gently flexing her claws.

Attention seeker.

Stuart wants to get scaffolding in through our front yard to sort out his guttering.  I said yes to that.  Hope it goes well.

Went to bed.

Up this morning to see fog rising from the valley.

Foggy morning this morning

Gorgeous view of the harbour

Sunrise over the Hutt

Mt Vic shrouded in fog

Off to the gym.  The bus driver was the lovely woman I used to see 2 years ago on my regular bus route.  So we chatted away.  Her mother is here from Samoa so she is happy.  I practised my Samoan.  "Manuia le aso".  She responded with the same phrase.  So either she was correcting my pronunciation, or she was also wishing me a nice day.  Either way - she recognised it.  Oosshh!

Although I do note it is Kiribati language week.  I must find out how to say hello.

Went to see Quentin this morning.  Benched 35kg.  It's my PB, I think.  Did 5 x 2.  Which is ok.  But I would like to see it start moving in an upwards trajectory.

Walked to the harbour (well, work is there, so I wandered down to the actual water) and enjoyed the beautiful morning.  Bird pooped on me on the way back to work.  I washed my jacket in the shower.

Hahahah.

Have a great day.

Love,
Angela

The weekend all by myself

Hi,

Well, the boys and Tessa got up super early on Saturday and headed to Bluebridge to catch the ferry.  Turns out they were a full hour early.  Again (happened last time too - we must be remembering the "show" time as the board time).

Moxley snoozing on her favourite blanket

All legs!

Moxley is so chill

Mike and Moxley blend!

So cute

Sleeping without Mike - Moxley has me squashed into the edge of the bed and she has the entire bed on her side

Uneasy alliance

So from 6am Saturday I have had the house to myself.  Group PT session first up - and with 3 punters we went back to the gym and trained in the warmth.  Yes!

Back home and tidied.  And then spent the rest of the weekend admiring how tidy it stayed.

Monday morning and it's still tidy.

:-D

Right.  This week is a short week for me as I am heading to Blenheim for a long weekend.  Yes!

Have a good one.

Love,
Angela

The Thursday with physio

Hi,

After a good day at work (the right amount of busy and a work lunch with colleagues), Mike headed to his after work things and I headed to my physio appointment.

First time for everything
After going backwards with my knee (not literally - it just got worse this past Monday, despite all the exercises the physio told me to do) the physio decided to use acupuncture.

Never done that before.

Even if she was sure we had.  Umm, no.  And why do you recall doing that with me, anyway?

But it was good.  She juggled me and another patient, and left me reading on the bed while the needles... did whatever it was the needles were supposed to do.

And I guess they worked because the stretch we did after the session showed my muscles were less tight.

So, back to the stretches and exercises for me.

Back home and Toby was sorting out his tea.  So I sorted mine and Mike got home and the evening just sort of disappeared.

Up Friday morning.  Home made iced latte day.  Mike and Toby need to pack today.

Friday manic selfie with home made iced latte

My boxing gloves arrived - woot.  Can't wait to try them out next week.  Oosshh.  Might even do some bag work this weekend.

Take care.

Love,
Angela

The Wednesday with a spontaneous pretend uber trip home for me

Hi,

You could almost say I was back to a fairly normal working day for me, if you look at the pics from yesterday.
First iced latte with Andrew since March
Finally met up with Andrew for our first iced latte together since mid March.  Mojos do a fine rendition - although I wish Machete was much closer as I am missing their one.

This morning's iced latte had undissolved sugar crystals at the bottom of the glass.  Crunchy coffee.  But it tasted okay - so all good, really.

Brekkie with Roanne

Had brekkie with Roanne - and enjoyed listening to her and Andrew chat about current political events.

Back to work before heading off to meet Jo.  That was great - and she works so close to me I think we can get some regular coffee dates in.  Maybe even drag Rex out of his garage haunt to come and visit too.

:-)

Iced latte date with Jo

Jo is good - work is good and they have signed on the dotted line for their house.  Woot!

Back to work and stuffed some lunch down.  Mike had to go home with a migraine though.  Poor chap.

I managed to convince Ange and Barb that they could come home with me in the car, so long as they were happy with the longish walk to Clifton Tce where the car was parked for the day.

Drove them home and felt like the car paid for the day's carpark with that spontaneous uber service.  Woot!

Home and Mike and I had comforting porridge for tea.  Toby and Tessa had pizza.  So all good in our hood.  Pizza delivery chap seemed to get lost and Mike was actually on the phone trying to sort out where it had gone when it arrived.  He had some excuse of some sort or other.

Too cold to get on his scooter would be a guess.

Yes, the weather is cold and wet.  Brrr.  Snow on the Remutaka hill through the night.  Wow.

Have an awesome day.

Love,
Angela

The Tuesday with lunch with Khemry

Hi,

By far and away the highlight of yesterday was catching up with Khemry, one of the smartest, kindest people I have had the pleasure to know.

We met at Gotham for lunch - and she even paid for my lunch and it was ready when I got there.

Wow.

:-)

My iced coffee @ Gotham

Look how small my head is compared to Khemry's head.  Don't ask me why - that was her comment.
Started walking home and got a few things at New World on my way.  But my knee started playing up so a third the way up our hill, Mike jumped in the car and came and got me.

Then he sold the electric lawn mower and later in the evening he sold my old ski boots.  We are rich.  So, so rich!

Not.

But - at least we have less clutter.

Hump day.  Let's do this.

I hope my family and friends in Melbourne are okay with the lockdown enforced there.  Here's hoping it hasn't spread.  Take care.

Love,
Angela
