The weekend with family tramping

Hi,

What a marvellous weekend Mike organised at Otapawa Farmstay in the northern Wairarapa.  We had a van load of punters as well as others getting there by themselves.  I think Mike is going to write all about it so I will just wave my literal hands around and waffle a bit.

The drive up on Friday night seemed to take ages.  Having 4 8-10 year old boys in the back was not conducive to "inner peace" which is what Yingjie had them practising by the end of the drive.  Good on her!  She was the closest to them so I guess she was desperate.

Straight to bed and Toby left the boys room almost immediately for the sanctuary of his parents room and got a good sleep.  Unlike those other boys that stayed up until midnight and then got up at 5:30-am!

The day was superb - we walked to a wee waterfall and enjoyed passing sun showers.  So it was not too horrible.

Sunday morning we had to free the bogged van - it had rained heavily all night.  But it was bright and sunny in the Wairarapa.  Mt Bruce was fun and we saw their new white kiwi.

The drive back over the hill was entertaining with sleety rain and hail.  Wellington weather was pants.  We dropped punters off amidst snowy rain.

My ride down the hill this morning was in brilliant sunshine though.  Wonderful day here.  Bring this on!

Have a great week!
Love,
Angela
