Had a weekend in Wellington that started weirdly on Friday night with Mike staying out with my work colleagues. Hahahah. I got regular updates through the evening on what he was doing. From both of them. I was pleased Jo was there - to keep him safe or get him into trouble is a little unclear. Bwhahahah!
Up early to get the car Wof'd and buy provisions for the going-away party for Tessa. Toby had plans to take her shopping, then back to our house, where in the meantime, his mates had all turned up to surprise her.
And cake. We needed to make cake. Specifically, lemon cake. And for that, with Toby's stress levels starting to spike, we called in the big guns. Aunty Sally came around and directed Toby in making the yummiest lemon cake.

Back home to tag team with Mike. He went to fit the chains to the Cross Country vans as a practise back in the Hutt. And dropped in to see Sally and Andrew too.
Back home, we both chilled with the teenagers in the lounge, gearing up for a sleepover. The lemon cake was scrumptious. We ordered in pizza and I think some of them fell into a food coma and slept ok. I don't think Toby was one of them. Toby, Tessa, Zack, Ethan, Isaac, Caspar and Sammie.
I slept in until 9am the next morning. OMG - that never happens. But we stayed in the bedroom and listened to the cohort eat brekkie and slowly leave.
Mike went into work and got some stuff done. And when he got home, he brought home a present for me!

It is not rated to any temperatures below 10C, that is for sure. But on top of our existing duvet - you betcha!
Slept well. Up early to walk in. Slightly cloudy but not bad. Sunny and cold today. Yes!
