The weekend with Mike away surviving in the bush

 Hi,

The big news was my mother's right hip surgery on Friday.  She went into the operation late (for me) and I do not think I heard until around 6pm that she was out and in recovery.  And poor Dad - he went home intending to go back on Saturday to visit. But the weather had other plans.  SEQ has been flooded - a 30 year high.  And he tried to get back south on Saturday and got to those humps in the road about 15km south of their place and the road was impassable.  Wow!

Anyway - he eventually got through Sunday to see her.  And she is up and walking with a walker.  She will be amazed at how much better it will be once the operation pain eases and she can walk unaided once more.  Mum - do your physio exercises!

Fairly relaxing weekend for us.  Friday did see Sally and Andrew pop around briefly late in the evening to say hi.  Hadn't seen them for ages so I brought up the pics from the river trip.  They are doing okay - except covid is nibbling at the edges of their workplace - as it is at ours.

Saturday morning stunner

Saturday was stunning.  Up for boot camp in Frank Kitts park and back home to get ready for Mike's survivor night away.  Orongaronga valley with his mates.

Solar panels doing their thing

I spent the evening clean beer bottles with Moxley's help and watching romcoms that Mike is never interested in watching.

Up Sunday to make myself an iced latte and it wasn't too long before Mike got back from his trip.  Having survived.

Sunday morning iced latte

Mushroom pie for tea

Made Mushroom Wellington for tea - we haven't had that for ages.  Yummy.

Monday iced latte

And off to bed early as Mike was wiped out by barely hanging on to survive.  :-p   Up for brekkie before work on Monday.

Let's see what the week has in store.  Workload.  Covid.  Mum's progress.  All interesting times.

Love,

Angela
