The weekend with dragon boat race day and cricket

 Hi,

What an amazing weekend - the weather really turned it on for the dragon boat race day.  Both days were flat calm out on the harbour.

Race day started late this year due to other harbour commitments - the local dive clubs were cleaning out the rubbish in the morning.   So we were at work at 10.45am and headed to the tent around 11.30am.

Are we ready?

Celia's nails are on point!

Startled me!

Gorgeous weather for it

Happy punters

Lunch break

Watching the final corporate A

Mike came to help support.  Celia was amazing as our drummer.  The team had such fun.  We were consistent:  1 minute 24 seconds for nearly all our races.

We made it into corporate C final and the gap from first to third was only 0.7 seconds.  We got bronze.

We made the Dom Post - top boat is us.  I am front right.

Green Man pub for the medals and some food.  Caught up with Andrew at Hudson for a drink.  Then home.

Up for cricket at Kelburn Park to see Celia play cricket.  She is good!  Not out as a batter.  And then bowled too - great action (although she hurt her shoulder and only did the one over).

Celia has an awesome innings - 25 not out

I walked home as I missed my bus by 1 minute.  Lovely walk.  Then off to town to Te Papa to watch a Friends of Te Papa session on Russian expeditions to the southern ocean - including Antarctic and New Zealand.
Met up with Mike and Sally at Cin cin for dinner ahead of their Bill Bailey concert.  Ed and June were eating there too.  :-)

Dinner out last night

Home and into bed.  Phew!

Hope your weekend is a good one.

Love,

Angela
