The weekend with social engagements and a bit of painting

Hi,

Mike finished the wardrobe interior painting.  Hooray!  The carpet people can come today (Monday) and finish Toby's room.  If we're lucky.

Friday evening was a movie night at home and we watched "The Iron Giant" and it was great fun.  A Cold War setting about a boy that befriends a scary huge robot.  Saturday there was no swimming (school holidays have started for the private schools and Huia Pool has maintenance) so Mike painted while I read that book I wanted to finish.

Toby went to play with Jack in the afternoon and that turned into a movie in the evening too (Kung Fu Panda 2).  We watched some TV and completely forgot about John and Tom arriving for tea until they knocked on the door.  Oops.  A quick Burger Wisconsin trip sorted that huge oversight out.

Sunday was Yum Cha in the morning (with Tabors and Jack and John) while Mike did a rubbish tip trip with various bits and pieces scattered around the neighbourhood (he put it out on Facebook that he didn't have enough for a trailerload and did anyone else have some rubbish - he was inundated).

Then I dropped Toby off at Kieran's house for a playdate, and caught up with the whanau at 40WLW.  Very pleasant afternoon.  Also caught up with Mike there briefly.

Back to have a nice cuppa with Kieran's parents and then off to see Mike and Karen for tea at their place.

Phew!  Hectic.

The week looms large ahead.  Got lots to get stuck into.  Hope your week goes well too.
Love,
Angela
