Hi,
Two days off for a Sharepoint conference proved a good use of time. The conference was generally high quality and the sessions aimed at me were very good.
Of course, the scariest part of the week came at 5.10pm on Wednesday when I had just finished my last session. A text from Dad saying he wasn't taking Toby to karate. Why, I wondered? So I rang. Turns out Toby has chicken pox. Oh dear. The poor wee boy. Obviously that Australian vaccine was just saline. Heheheh.
We've had reports and emails from his school saying children have been catching this strain who have had vaccinations and possibly even children that have already had chicken pox are getting it. Anyhow, we're hoping his vaccination means this will be a mild case.
Mum is looking after him (and Dad is not breathing around him) and we saw him last night. He is pretty chipper for a sick wee lad. We'll collect him tonight after work and bring him home for the weekend. He'll probably be off school for a lot of next week too. So perhaps we'll have some sick leave to take to look after him. Mum can't be expected to do all of it.
Weekend activities are now bed rest and lots of reading with Toby. No swimming. No sleepovers.
Anyhow - I need a cup of tea now. Everything will be better with a nice cuppa. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love,
Angela
