The Tuesday back at work after the long weekend

Facebook showed me this from 8 years ago.  What a cutie!

What's with no iced latte pics?  Does it mean I am doing without?

Spoke to my mother yesterday evening (after a good chat to Celia too).  Mum was reminiscing about Aunty Dot.  Shona too.  We sent old photos around the chat of us all together when we were very young.  Such nice memories.

Mike walked up Mt Kau Kau with Janine after work yesterday.  That seems like such a good idea.  He enjoyed it.

We had Indian takeaways from our local last night.  Yay for no cooking.  As Toby, Tessa and I tucked into it, Mike got back from his walk.  So we all ate together.

 It wasn't long before we went to bed and I finally got a reasonable sleep.  Yay for recharging the batteries.

Exchanged pings with Andrew.  OMG.  HE tried walking out of his tramp Monday morning and the river was really high so he went back to the hut to hunker down and try again Tuesday morning.  But another tramper made a bad decision and tried to cross.  They found the body on Tuesday.  Rivers are so dangerous. 

Rivers.  If they are muddy, flowing faster than walking speed, carrying debris or very high, just wait.

The weather is cold and wet here - and set to get worse over the next few days.
