The weekend with a long weekend

Hi,

Friday saw another milestone - Allworks came and planted out the back yard.  It looks great.

It was a teacher only day for Toby and Tessa so I took them to Caffiend.  That was packed!  We had to check in and we sat outside as we were dressed warmly and it wasn't too chilly anyway.

 Mike got the fence undercoated during a late lunch break.  And made it well before the rain that was forecast made its debut. The paint stayed on!

I went to the supermarket for the first time on Saturday.  While Toby had his haircut at Maggies.  It wasn't too weird.  The trolley was sanitised before I used it.  There is a one-way system on the aisles.  Nothing looked out of stock that I noticed.

We then got shoes for Toby at Shoe Clinic and then had lunch at Urban on Manners cafe.  And that was lovely.  Great service and the food was good.  Maybe Mike and Tessa's smoothie was less than super delicious, but my iced latte was good.

Sunday was mulching at our friend Ellie's house. Mike had for some reason said 'yes' to helping her with a huge pile of gorse, broom, ivy, and other trees and shrubs she'd cleared and piled up. We got through most of it, along with a tip run. Hard work. We were both stiff and sore by Sunday night. Monday was a quiet day after that.

I got my Patak's lime pickle in the courier post from UK Goodies in Petone.  Yay!  Ready for butter panner now.  I can't wait.  I can no longer find this in any supermarket here.

In sad news, my Aunty Dot passed away last night ~ 10.15pm.  I am devastated as she was one of the nicest people you would ever hope to meet.  The world definitely got less kind with her passing.  She made a difference in her life to the people she met.
