Davis Falls

Day 12 - Pokhara - Davis Falls

As always, up early for sunrise on the roof.

As always, stunning.

Off to waterfall and caves by public bus. So much fun. Rick and I chatted to a very precocious 10yo girl who was delightfully happy to find a bunch of foreigners on her bus. She wanted us to come to her house at the end of the bus ride.

Falls named after a Mrs Davis, a Swiss woman, who was washed over them and killed in the 1960s. It's been changed over the years to 'Devi's Falls', Devi being a hindu goddess. (At least, that's one of many stories).

Shopping afterwards consumed all my money, along with a big chunk of Graham's and Ali's. Oops. I was unprepared...!

Then we entered the cave on the other side of the road where the falls flow into. Nice. Entrance is under construction and will be pretty impressive when it's finished.

We also visited the Tibetan refugee village just up the road from the falls.

Dinner at pretty flash place by the waterfront. Sue and I had Dal Bhat but sue hit a big chili in her first mouthful of spinach which put her right off. I cheerfully munched my way through them but not so cheerfully through a green chili garnish...

Omelette for breakfast, yum.
